The West Central School Board members approved a proposed realignment in the secondary administrative staff on Thursday night.
Superintendent Dan Zylstra noted that a new athletic director was recommended for the board’s approval who will also handle other administrative duties. The board approved the recommendation of Charles Roberts into the position.
Zylstra also recommended a new middle and high school assistant principal for approval who will also assist with counseling duties. The school board approved the hire of Angie Radtke to fill that role.
In addition to these and several teacher hires to fill vacancies for the upcoming school year, Zylstra noted that a third kindergarten teacher was hired in order to decrease the class size at that grade level.
