Winamac Middle School teachers will be learning about a new program that will assist students with any curriculum or subject area while increasing reading understanding.
Middle School Principal Ryan Dickinson told the Eastern Pulaski School Board members last week that teachers will engage in jumpstart training in the Achieve3000 instruction on Thursday, Aug. 8. This will lead the teachers into the new school year with ongoing training throughout the school year.
Dickinson asked the school board to consider a stipend for the teachers for attending this training. Interim Superintendent Dr. Gib Crimmins recommended a $50 stipend in appreciation of the teacher’s attendance during the training which was unanimously approved by the school board members.
According to program officials, Achieve3000 supports 21st century education initiatives across content areas and helps put all students on the road to College and Career Readiness.
