Pulaski Council Approves Budget Transfers for Sheriff’s Department Vehicle Repairs, Other Expenses

Vehicle repairs and a salary increase for Sheriff Jeff Richwine have prompted a series of budget transfers for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department. Richwine asked the county council last week to move a total of $10,000 to cover the various expenses.

“There’s a transfer into my salary,” he explained. “My raise comes in there about halfway, and we didn’t realize that, so we have to transfer some in to cover that. And then equipment repair – we just got another big one, with a transmission on a vehicle that we replaced.”

Council members agreed to transfer $8,000 into Equipment Repair out of the Service and Contracts and Household Supplies line items. Another $1,000 is being moved into the sheriff’s salary line item out of Printing. The council also agreed to transfer $1,000 from Radio and TV Maintenance into Transport for Inmates.

Meanwhile, council members approved a request from the Treasurer’s Office to transfer $1,000 from Full-Time Help to Part-Time Help, along with a request from the Prosecutor’s Office to move $400 to cover the county’s social security payments for part-time summer employees.
