Officers from the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries on U.S. 20 and Wiley Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say a semi driven by 27-year-old Lyndel L. Hodge of Berrien Springs, Michigan was slowing on U.S. 20 for congested traffic when a passenger car driven by 30-year-old Zachery Sims of La Porte, failed to slow down and struck the rear of the trailer.

Hodge was not injured in the crash.
The investigation remains active as alcohol and toxicology tests are pending.
