Lots between Lewis Drive and Lambert Street Donated to City of Knox

The Knox City Council was alerted of a recent land donation when members met Tuesday evening.

Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston informed council members that a local couple has provided the City with some property.

He explained, “Gary and Donna Hagen donated six lots to the City of Knox. They’re each about 2/10ths of an acre.”

Houston said the lots are valued at about $2,600 a piece. He noted they’re situated near the end of Lambert Street, by the Lewis Drive alleyway. He also mentioned that there is a city-owned rail bed near the properties as well.

He mentioned that they’ll have to pay one year of taxes on the properties next year but after that, it should be tax-free.
