Knox School Board Reviews Capital Projects, Bus Replacement Plans

Paving work, server upgrades, and a new storage shed are a few of the projects the Knox Community School Corporation is looking to complete in the coming years.

Treasurer Kasey Clark presented the proposed capital projects plan to the school board last week. It includes repaving the track, as well as the school corporation’s parking lots. Boiler upgrades are planned at the middle school, and school officials are planning to build a new pole barn for storage.

Meanwhile, the bus replacement plan for 2020 through 2024 calls for the replacement of two buses most years. Each bus is expected to remain in service for at least 12 years.

Clark reminded board members that those plans will depend on funding availability. No comments were offered from the public. The plans will be up for adoption next Monday, along with the 2020 budget.
