Knox Mayor Provides Holiday-Related Announcements during City Council Meeting

The upcoming Thanksgiving holiday has some Knox residents questioning when their trash will be collected.

During Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, Mayor Dennis Estok said he received some calls about it so he noted that individuals who typically have their trash picked up on Thursday will have it collected on Friday instead for this week only.

He mentioned that the Mayor’s Office will be closed Thursday and Friday and added that leaf pick-up won’t be done again until Monday.

Residents should also be aware that today is the final day to turn in an application to be a part of the annual Peppermint Parade in the City of Knox. City officials stress that no late entries will be accepted.

Applications must be turned into the Mayor’s Office at 101 West Washington Street before the close of business hours. The event itself will be held on Saturday, December 7th.
