The West Central School Board members were intrigued with the success teachers are having with a new piece of technology purchased for the corporation earlier this year, according to Superintendent Dan Zylstra.
“Nearpod is some instructional technology that we’ve invested in,” explained Zylstra. “It’s a very advanced form of interactive Powerpoint that includes quizzes, polling, and videos. We did that at the beginning of the year and one of our teachers presented information on that program. It was great to see some of the things that our teachers are able to do with the technology we’ve invested in.”
Students can actively participate in lessons as a feature explained on Nearpod’s informational website. It states that the technology allows teachers to customize lessons to fit the corporation’s needs.
