Pulaski County Commissioners Sign Off on Annual CASA Grant Application

Pulaski County’s Court Appointed Special Advocates program will be able to get the funding it needs for another year. CASAs are trained volunteers who help guide abused and neglected kids through the court system.

Last week, the county commissioners agreed to let the program apply for its annual grant from the state. Pulaski County CASA Program Director Sara Kroft said it will provide almost $16,000 this year. That funding will help cover her salary and other operating expenses.

Circuit Court Judge Mary Welker added that the county’s local match requirement will be covered by what’s already in the CASA program’s budget.
