Several Local Marching Bands are Heading to ISSMA Semi-State on Saturday!

Multiple local high school marching bands will venture down to Indianapolis tomorrow for the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Open Class Semi-State Marching Band Competition.

Students from Bremen, John Glenn, Knox, Laville and Plymouth will join approximately 75 other bands from around the state who are competing for a chance to represent their class at the 47th Annual Indiana State Marching Band Finals.

The Pride of Plymouth Marching Band will be the only local band performing at Pike High School and they will present their show at 1:00 p.m. ET.

The John Glenn Falcon Pride Marching Band will head to Decatur Central High School and will perform at 4:15 p.m. The Knox Redskin Brigade is also competing at Decatur and their performance is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.

Awards for the Pike and Decatur sites will be presented at 7 p.m.

The LaVille Royal Regiment Marching Band will be competing at Franklin Community High School and their performance will commence at 3:30 p.m. The Emerald Alliance Bremen Marching Band will also compete at Franklin and they will have their performance at 6:15 p.m. Awards for this site will be presented at 7:15 p.m.

Admission at each event is $8 for adults and $5 for students and preschoolers. A reminder for those planning to attend; the schedule is created according to the time zone Indianapolis is in so all performance times listed are in Eastern Time.

The schools that win at semi-state will attend the State Marching Band Finals at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, November 9th. Admission for the State Finals costs $22 for adults and $18 for students and preschoolers.
