Construction of income-based housing units in Culver is underway.
According to a newsletter issued by Culver Town Manager Jonathan Leist, building pads for apartment units have been poured on the site on Cavalier Drive.
The Paddocks will feature seven buildings. Three buildings will have eight townhomes each and three buildings with eight apartments each along with a community building. Rent will be income-based. Developer Kevin Berger said previously that the entire project will be complete by January 2021, as outlined in specific funding and planning paperwork. One of the townhome buildings could open up in late 2020 for occupancy.
The Paddocks is the second phase of the Sandhill Farms housing development project. Workforce housing was complete in phase one with units currently available for rent.
Leist noted that The Paddocks was funded in part by Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s (IHCDA)’s low income housing tax-credit program, funded
through Culver’s Stellar Communities designation in 2017.
