With the holiday season upon us, the regular meetings of the Knox City Board of Works and the Knox City Council are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 26.
The Knox Board of Works members will meet at 9:30 a.m. to discuss an update on 306 W. Lambert Street. During the last meeting, Director of Building and Code Compliance Kenny Pfost told board members that he wasn’t able to get inside of the home to conduct an inspection. The bank now owns the property following the death of the owners. He said he couldn’t get a hold of anyone to complete the task. At the time, the members directed Pfost to apply for an inspection warrant in order to make a recommendation on rehabilitation or demolition.
The board members also plan to hear updates from department heads on various operations through the city.
At 6:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, the Knox City Council members will be sworn into office prior to the 7 p.m. CT regular meeting. A resolution for a transfer of funds will be considered along with reports from Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston and Mayor Dennis Estok.
All business on Thursday will be conducted in the meeting room at Knox City Hall at 101 W. Washington Street.
