A La Porte County man is facing felony charges following an arrest that occurred Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, on Monday, December 16th La Porte County Deputy David Grimberg met with a female privately inside the Sheriff’s Office. She reported that she had found some concerning information on an electronic device belonging to her husband.
The following day, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division began to investigate further. Lead Detective Gabe Struss began to consult with the staff of the La Porte County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office regarding the known facts surrounding the case.
On Wednesday, December 18th at approximately 9 a.m. Detective Struss, along with the assistance of Detective James Lear, executed two search warrants at the suspect’s residence on Goldring Road.

The suspect, 49-year-old Brent R. Menke was taken into custody and later transported to the La Porte County Jail.
Menke was arrested and charged with the Level 5 Felony of Child Exploitation and the Level 6 Felony of Possession of Child Pornography. He remains housed in the La Porte County Jail on a $15,005 cash-only bond through La Porte County Circuit Court.
