North Judson Town Superintendent Shares Results of Recent Inspection

North Judson Town Superintendent Joe Leszek recently informed council members about the results of an inspection that was conducted by Peerless Midwest.

Leszek shared that most of their equipment was in satisfactory condition but crews did find one issue that needs to be addressed.

He explained, “They are recommending well one be pulled and redone. Right now, we’re not operating that well because we can’t.”

Superintendent Leszek said they provided an approximation of what that would cost to pull the pump and repair it, however, he said that amount is not set in stone.

Leszek noted, “It’s hard to get an actual quote of what it’s going to would cost to do that but they ball parked it and to kind of get the well redone and get everything back up and going and all the equipment and that is anywhere from eight to twelve-thousand.”

He continued, “Again, they don’t know until they actually get on site, pull everything, take everything back to their shop and start redoing it.”

He added that the initial cost for them just to pull it out and take it back to their shop will be around $2,000 to $3,000 but that amount is included in their total cost estimate.

Councilwoman Wendy Hoppe noted that well one hasn’t been worked on for at least two decades.

A motion was made to allow Leszek to schedule a date for Peerless crews to come out and take the equipment back for evaluation. It passed with unanimous council approval.
