Pulaski County employees will get 14 holidays in 2020. The county commissioners approved the 2020 holiday schedule Monday. Employees will once again get the May and November election days off. Independence Day will be observed on July 3, since July 4 falls on a Saturday.
But Commissioner Kenny Becker warned employees that they’re not going to change the holiday schedule, now that it’s been approved. “They’ve all had a chance to look at it, so don’t come to me 10 months from now and say that ain’t what you want,” he said.
The commissioners had agreed to adjust this year’s holiday schedule in November, after some employees apparently voiced concern about not getting Christmas Eve off.
Next year, the commissioners will continue to meet on the first Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. and the third Monday of the month at 8:30 a.m., except for three situations when holidays will bump the meetings to Tuesdays.
Commissioner Mike McClure expressed his approval with the meeting schedule. “I might not miss any!” he said. “Yeah, this looks good!”
Commissioners meetings will continue to be held at the Pulaski County Highway Garage on U.S. 35 in Winamac.
