The Eastern Pulaski School Board will hold its first meeting of the year tonight. It will be the board’s first meeting since Dara Chezem officially took over as superintendent on January 1.
Board members’ first item of business will be to reorganize for 2020. In addition to choosing a president, vice-president, and secretary, the positions of treasurer, deputy treasurer, and school board attorney will be up for reappointment. Board members will also set their pay level and 2020 meeting schedule.
A number of financial items will be up for the school board’s approval. Board members will be asked to transfer money from the Operations Fund to the Rainy Day Fund, and approve an additional appropriation to Debt Service. They will also decide whether to keep using Administrator Assistance for consultation services. The group recently helped Eastern Pulaski with the superintendent search process and provided an interim superintendent.
The purchase of two white buses will be up for the board’s approval. Members are also expected to accept a lunch account donation and the donation of a kiln for the elementary art room, while they will be asked to declare other items as surplus.
Tonight’s Eastern Pulaski School Board meeting starts at 5:30 EST in the Eastern Pulaski Conference/Meeting Center, followed by the reorganization of the board of finance at 6:15.
