Indiana State Police are still looking for potential new troopers. They’re accepting additional applications for the 80th Recruit Academy.
Those who complete the training and join the force will get a starting salary of $48,000 a year, health insurance, a lifetime pension after 25 years of service, and other benefits.
To be eligible to become an Indiana State Trooper, an applicant must be a U.S. citizen, at least 21 and less than 40 years of age on October 1, 2020, and have a high school diploma or GED, among other requirements. Applicants must also be willing to live anywhere in Indiana, as assigned by the ISP superintendent.
The deadline to apply is Tuesday, January 7 at 5:00 p.m. EST. Those selected to proceed in the selection process will report to the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield next Saturday morning for a written examination, physical abilities test, and oral interview.
