Knox Awarded $3,000 Grant for Musical Performance at Fall Bash

The City of Knox has gotten a $3,000 grant to bring a 1960s tribute band to this year’s Fall Bash. It’s part of the Rural Indiana Performance Fund, a partnership between Arts Midwest and the Indiana Arts Commission that helps bring professional performing arts programs to audiences with limited access to them.

With the grant funding, the City of Knox will host Magic Bus, a band that aims to take audiences back to the late 1960s with the music of the Woodstock era.

Grants from the Rural Indiana Performance Fund may be used to cover artist fees, promotional costs, and supplies, among other expenses. The programs must be open to the public and include a community activity. In this case, Magic Bus will host a meet and greet, along with its performance at Wythogan Park.

The Rural Indiana Performance Fund has awarded a total of more than $29,000 this year to 10 rural communities around the state.
