Knox School Board to Make Redevelopment Commission Appointment, Accept Donations

The Knox School Board will appoint a representative to the city’s redevelopment commission tonight.

At the last school board meeting, Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart explained that it’s a new appointment, following a change in state law. “The redevelopment commission is important because they also set tax rates and get involved in TIF districts and those types of things,” Reichhart said. “It’s a new law, so we need a board member to step up and serve on that commission. It’s a one-year appointment at this point in time.”

In other business tonight, the Knox School Board is expected to accept donations for new dumbbells and to help a student in need, and Reichhart will likely explain a number of potential policy updates recommended by policy consultant NEOLA. Tonight’s Knox School Board meeting starts at 6:30 in the Knox Schools Administrative Office.
