Pulaski County Sheriff Reviews 2019 Statistics

Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputies made fewer arrests in 2019 than in 2018. Sheriff Jeff Richwine told the county commissioners Monday that deputies made 398 arrests last year, down from 510 the year before.

The number of traffic stops dropped by more than half, and citations and warnings were also down. “We’re down a deputy,” Richwine explained. “We’ve got Cody [Foust] off on military leave. So that kind of accounts for that, I think.”

Richwine said Pulaski County dispatchers took almost 3,800 911 calls last year. “There was 13,523 calls where the dispatcher actually sent somebody on a call, so this is anywhere from the REACT guys up to us, and the Sheriff’s Office handled 6,151 of those calls,” Richwine added.

The Sheriff’s Office administrative staff also had a busy year. “Firearms license: last year, we had 89, which was $4,245,” Richwine noted. “Income tax warrants were just a little under $50,000.”

Richwine said the department generated more than $4,300 in report fees and another $660 in sex offender fees.
