Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Warns Residents of Vehicle Break-Ins

A rise in vehicle break-ins is prompting Pulaski County Police to remind residents to lock their cars. Officers say they’ve had multiple reports of items being stolen from vehicles in the area between U.S. 35 and County Road 1100 West, north of State Road 14. The cars were reportedly unlocked and parked in front of the victims’ homes.

Police believe that two subjects, possibly males, are responsible. They may have been seen walking in the areas where the incidents were reported, primarily around the Tippecanoe River State Park. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Chris Schramm at 574-946-6655.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office urges residents to lock their vehicles, even when they’re parked in their garages or driveways. Police note that suspects in these types of crimes will typically travel on foot trying to find unlocked vehicles, and if a car is locked, they’re more likely to move on. If you see someone looking into vehicles, checking door handles, or forcing entry into vehicles, police say to call 911.
