After years of enforcement efforts, a Downtown Knox building is nearly up to code. An update on 1 & 3 North Main Street was given to the board of works Wednesday, according to Mayor Dennis Estok.
“We had code enforcement on that, and basically, he only has two items left to fix,” Estok explains. He the property owner has been given until April 22 to finish the work.
The city originally ordered the repairs back in 2017, due to issues with the brickwork and a number of other concerns. At one point, a bench trial was scheduled after little progress was made.
