The Culver Town Council members opened several bids for a Sewer Department truck previously approved to be sold by the bid process.
Five bids were opened which ranged from $1,200 to $2,100. The highest bid came from Zehner Excavating and the town council members approved that bid.
The company will have only a few days to remove the truck from the property following the acceptance of the bid.
Utility Superintendent Bob Porter is replacing the truck with a single cab, half-ton 2020 Chevrolet 1500 pick-up truck at a cost of $26,590. The council approved an additional $1,100 toward the purchase in order to obtain the truck sooner than a 6-8 week wait. Even with the additional $1,100, the purchase was less than the other two quotes received to purchase the vehicle.
