The Culver Town Council members considered the purchase of a truck for the sewer department last week.
Utility Superintendent Bob Porter asked to replace a 2007 Ford pick-up truck with a single cab, half-ton 2020 Chevrolet 1500 pick-up truck. Porter mentioned that the current vehicle has transmission problems.
Three quotes were received for the new vehicle with Cambe submitting the lowest quote at $26,590. The other two quotes came from Auto Park at $39,877 and Country Auto at $28,003.
The council approved the lowest quote from Cambe and allowed Porter to purchase the new vehicle. The old pick-up will be sold as-is with sealed bids to be accepted until 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at Culver Town Hall.
