Hospitals Tightening Visitor Restrictions

Local hospitals are tightening restrictions on visitors. Starting March 17, Starke Hospital will only allow visitors to emergency department, surgery, the labor and delivery unit, and pediatric patients, as well as patients at the end of life. Patients in other areas are not allowed to have visitors.

Only one visitor will be allowed at a time. Those under 18, people with a fever or symptoms of respiratory illness, and those who’ve traveled internationally will not be allowed to visit. Starke Hospital visitors may use the main entrance until 6:00 p.m. and the emergency department entrance after that. All visitors will be asked screening questions.

Wellness programs will be suspended until March 31, but physical, speech, and occupational therapy appointments will continue.

Pulaski Memorial Hospital is limiting visitors to immediate family, with only two visitors allowed at a time. Visitors to the OB department are being limited to the same two people as designated by the patient. Those with a fever or respiratory illness and those under 18 will not be allowed to visit in most cases.
