When extracurricular activities resume, Oregon-Davis High School will have a new sports team. The addition of a club softball team was officially approved by the school board last week, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.
“I know a lot of people are excited about that,” he says. “The goal of the board and myself would be that they would have success and get going this spring and summer, and then we would look at making that a sanctioned sport next spring.”
Getting the program up and running will likely be a bit of a challenge, since all practices and games are canceled through May 1, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. A list of three volunteer coaches for the new softball program was also presented for the school board’s approval.
