Oregon-Davis to Pay Support Staff during School Closure

The Oregon-Davis School Board has taken action to pay the school corporation’s support staff while in-person classes are canceled. Superintendent Dr. Don Harman says board members passed a resolution Monday authorizing school leaders to take appropriate actions “to ensure the safety and well-being” of the school community through the end of the current term.

“The board and myself had concerns that for the next several weeks without school, we have our support staff that is not working, and it’s very difficult for those support staff to go week-to-week without a paycheck,” Harman explains. “So the intent is, with this resolution, we will be paying our support staff during this time that we have closed our campus.”

Harman says a number of field trip, facility use, and fundraiser requests that were on the board’s agenda were officially approved, but in practice, all of the events have been canceled.
