Pulaski County Sheriff Updates Commissioners on Jail Search, Repairs

A thorough check of the Pulaski County Jail last week turned up no illegal drugs or law violations. Sheriff Jeff Richwine told the county commissioners Monday that the search went very well.

“Last Thursday, we did a complete search of the jail, where we actually pull every inmate out of their cells and just kind of tuck them in other places that we can keep them locked down, and then we search all their cells, strip search them, and just kind of go through the place,” Richwine explained.

One thing that the Sheriff’s Office discovered is a striker plate on a door with the wrong size screws, causing it to rattle. Richwine also said he’s hired contractors to fix the electronics room cooling system, as well as the drop ceiling where new fire alarms have been installed.
