Pulaski Memorial Hospital Implements Visitor Restrictions as Coronavirus Preparations Continue

Pulaski Memorial Hospital is getting ready for coronavirus. Hospital officials say they’ve put together a plan to screen, diagnose, and treat patients who are showing signs of COVID-19, using guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Anyone who feels sick and has either traveled to an area impacted by the virus or has been in contact with someone who has is urged to call the hospital or their primary care provider before going to either location. Hospital officials say that while COVID-19 is different from the flu, many of the symptoms are the same. By calling ahead, healthcare providers can use screening questions to help figure out the best treatment.

In the meantime, Pulaski Memorial Hospital has already put visitor restrictions in place. Only two people may visit a patient at a time, and no one under 18 is allowed. Anyone showing signs of COVID-19 will be screened.

Officials from throughout Pulaski County met Monday to coordinate coronavirus preparedness efforts, and the hospital continues working with the CDC, Indiana State Department of Health, and the Pulaski County Health Department. For the latest information on the coronavirus, visit the CDC website.
