Starke County Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler will attend the National American Disabilities Act Symposium in May.
Ritzler is the county’s ADA coordinator.
Highway Department Office Manager Mary Perren told the Starke County Commissioners last week that Ritzler will earn 16 credits at the conference which is what he needs to complete his ADA certification. Once Ritzler obtains his ADA certification it will allow the county to apply for more grants for projects.
It was also noted that Ritzler obtained a scholarship to be able to participate in the National ADA Symposium. It will cover the cost of the conference.
