The staff members at the West Central School Corporation are looking into textbook rental fees for the 2020-2021 school year.
Superintendent Dan Zylstra said they’re checking to see what other schools are charging.
“They’re really kind of all over the map,” stated Zylstra. “Some of them are a lot higher than us, some are significantly so, while some are a little lower. When we get more numbers in then I think we’ll have a better sense of how we want to adjust the fee structure and set it for our Chromebooks. We’ll kind of know where we stand compared to our peers.”
The board typically adopts the textbook rental fees in May for the next school year. Zylstra said they have plenty of time to do more research on the topic before recommending costs to the board.
