Winamac Wastewater Plant’s Ammonia Removal Project Almost Done

Upgrades to Winamac’s wastewater treatment plant are wrapping up. Wastewater Superintendent Barry Day recently told the town council that the new ammonia removal system was set to be fired up around April 6.

The project will bring the wastewater plant into compliance with environmental requirements. Winamac had gotten a $700,000 grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs to help with part of the cost.
