Porter-Starke Using Telemedicine to Continue Offering Mental Health Services

As COVID-19 fears and social distancing lead to increased anxiety, community mental health centers are making sure residents can still get the care that they need. Porter-Starke Services says its offices will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through April 30.

Porter-Starke is using phone appointments and telemedicine services, when possible. It’s also limiting the number of people visiting its offices, asking clients not to arrive more than five minutes before their scheduled appointment, and suspending visits at its inpatient care center.

Starke and Porter County residents can use the free online MyStrength resource to help improve their mental health from home. Porter-Starke says it’s also taking calls from anyone feeling anxious or stressed at 219-531-3500.
