Knox School Corporation Donates Equipment to Starke County EMS

The Knox Community School Corporation graciously donated personal protective equipment to the Starke County EMS Department.

EMS Director Travis Clary told WKVI News that the corporation donated gloves, gowns and masks for use by paramedics and EMTs.  He thanked Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart and the staff for their generosity.

Clary said most of their supplies have been exhausted from their suppliers. Gloves are on a 20-week back order.  They need N95 masks and gowns.  Clary did note that they are improvising by using rain ponchos to protect crews from droplet exposure on clothing.

Clary commented that the department is doing their best to stay on top of the recommendations set forth by the CDC to try to maximize resources.
