Administrative penalty fees at the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will resume July 1.
Residents with expired Driver’s Licenses, permits, state ID cards, and vehicle registrations need to renew those by July 1 to avoid paying a penalty fee. Title transactions and new vehicle registration must also be completed before July 1.
Online credit card transaction fees will also resume July 1.
The fees have been waived since March 16 to assist the needs of residents who were not able to go to a License Branch to conduct business due to COVID-19.
If a renewal deadline has passed or is upcoming, and those who need to complete a title transfer or register a new vehicle, schedule an appointment with the BMV to complete the transaction prior to June 30. In-person appointments may be scheduled online: https://secure.in.gov/apps/waittimes/Schedule/Welcome.aspx. BMV officials encourage residents to complete transactions online whenever possible.
