A crowdfunding campaign led by the Starke County Park Board and the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, sponsored by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), begins today to help gather funds toward the new Starke County Veteran’s War Memorial. The memorial will be placed on the southeast corner of the Starke County Courthouse Square at Washington and Pearl Streets in Knox.
The campaign goal is $50,000. The Starke County Park Board will receive the same amount of money from the IHCDA in its CreatINg Places initiative if the matching money is collected by July 21, 2020.
To be a part of the historic project, go online to https://www.patronicity.com/project/starke_county_veterans_memorial_plaza#!/ where you can search for the Starke County Veteran’s War Memorial project under CreatINg Places.
The funds raised will be used to prepare the space, install the memorial, provide for seating, lighting, and ensure accessibility.
