While students and teachers will continue with eLearning through May 21 at the Culver Community School Corporation, many of the employees who work on the grounds and in the buildings will return to work on Monday, May 11.
Superintendent Karen Shuman presented the Culver School Board this week with an employee guide to safely return to the workplace that follows outlines from Governor Eric Holcomb.
Teachers may come into classrooms as needed.
Anyone aged 65 or older, or anyone with a doctor’s order may talk with a supervisor about working from home.
All 12-month and 10-month employees will return to normal work hours on May 11. All 10-month hourly employees will report to the supervisor to assist in assigned tasks.
Each employee should complete a self-assessment each day to check for any COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath. If symptoms are present, they will be reported to the supervisor for implementation of the sick-leave policy. Employees who are sick will stay home until they are free of fever for about three days.
Employees should use cough and sneeze etiquette and wash hands often for 20 seconds with soap and water. Hand sanitizer will be used as well as bacterial wipes. Highly touched areas will be disinfected. There will be no hand shaking. Social distancing is required. Face masks are recommended, but not mandatory.
It was noted that custodians perform environmental cleaning of commonly touched surfaces often and will continue to do so.
The guidelines were posted on the school’s website.
