The North Judson-San Pierre School Board opened bids on Tuesday afternoon for a new bus garage.
Superintendent Dr. Annette Zupin told WKVI News that the new bus garage will be built across from the current building. The current facility is in need of many upgrades so she said it was in the best interest of the corporation to build a new building.
The bus garage will have two bays for buses to be serviced and washed. Dr. Zupin noted that it will be a basic building.
She commented that the bids came in above the budget for the project. Architecture and engineering firm members from Fanning Howey will analyze the bids. The bid amounts were not provided.
The company is also assisting the school corporation with the proposed elementary school project.
Fanning Howey representatives will present a recommendation on how to move forward with the project in a week or so. They may discuss how to scale back the scope of the project to work within the budget for the project.
