Local libraries continue to be closed to the public, even as they keep looking for other ways to offer services. The Pulaski County Public Library in Winamac says it will remain closed due to its construction project. The library says reopening plans will be shared when construction wraps up in September.
Until then, it’s offering curbside pickup, a Zoom book club, and other virtual programs. Those wanting to visit a library in-person are directed to use the Kewanna Public Library. The Pulaski County Public Library Board expects the closure to lead to revenue shortfalls.
Meanwhile, the North Judson-Wayne Township Public Library had opened its building to the public but announced it was going back to curbside service only less than a week later. The Starke County Public Library System is also limited to curbside service, but starting this week, patrons are allowed to make 30-minute appointments to use the computers at the Henry F. Schricker Branch in Knox.
