No One Hurt after Liquid Fertilizer Trailers Catch on Fire in Starke County

Firefighters and a hazmat crew were called to a farm equipment fire in Starke County Friday. It happened just after 5:00 p.m. in the 100 block of North Range Road, according to Knox-Center Township Fire Chief Kenny Pfost. He says two liquid fertilizer trailers caught on fire.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the trailers, and no one was hurt. Pfost says the fire was caused by burning cardboard in an outside container.

The Hamlet-Davis Township Volunteer Fire Department, LaPorte County Hazmat, and Starke County EMS assisted the Knox-Center Township Volunteer Fire Department.
