North Judson Grocery Store Planning July Opening

North Judson’s new grocery store is set to open next month. Teo Dobre gave the town council an update Monday on the work taking place at the former Grand Central Station building that he purchased. He said he hopes to have the store up and running by a week after the Fourth of July.

Dobre told council members they’re doing it for the community. Along with the grocery items, he also plans to sell baked goods and takeout meals, among other items.

Council President John Rowe assured Dobre that the town would be willing to help however it can. “It sounds wonderful,” Rowe said. “It sounds like you’ve got a good plan, and we’re very, very happy to have you.”

North Judson has been without a grocery store since the closure of Heartland Market.
