Oregon-Davis School Board to Name Superintendent Tonight

The Oregon-Davis School Board will name the corporation’s next superintendent tonight. No comments were offered during last week’s public hearing on the new superintendent’s contract. It calls for a base salary of $95,000, plus benefits.

Dr. Don Harman recently left Oregon-Davis after nearly four years as superintendent to take over as executive director of the Northern Indiana Educational Services Center. Jim Dermody has been serving as education consultant during the transition.

In other business tonight, Dermody will give a presentation on O-D’s return-to-school plan. Last week, Starke County’s school superintendents met with local health officials to review the state’s guidance and coordinate reopening plans.

Tonight’s special Oregon-Davis School Board meeting starts at 6:30 in the junior/senior high school humanities room.
