Pulaski County Cash Flow Analysis to Be Presented Tonight

The Pulaski County Council and Commissioners will get an update on the county’s finances tonight. Accounting firm Baker Tilly has been analyzing the county’s cash flow, as the county prepares to finance a courthouse renovation and justice center expansion.

Pulaski County began the year expecting a budget deficit despite having the highest local income tax rate in the state. A measure to try to address those issues was narrowly rejected by the county council last year. On top of that, delays in tax revenues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have created cash flow challenges for many local governments.

Tonight’s joint Pulaski County Council and Commissioners meeting starts at 6:00 EDT, followed by the council’s regular meeting at 7:00.

Council members will consider a bond ordinance for the Francesville-Salem Township Public Library and hear copier proposals from Advanced Imaging and Cardinal Copier Solutions. Budget transfer requests from the Prosecutor’s Office and EMS department will be up for approval.

Attendance at tonight’s meetings will be limited due to COVID-19 concerns, but they can be viewed live on the Pulaski County, Indiana, Government Facebook page.
