The money spent on personal protective equipment for the Starke County Primary Election may be reimbursed by the State.
Starke County Clerk Bernadette Manuel told the Starke County Election Board members last week that the Secretary of State’s office has CARES Act funding available for all expenses used to provide the poll workers and the voters at the polls for Election Day with hand sanitizer, gloves, disinfectant, and other personal protective equipment.
Manuel said she submitted claims that totaled $3,500. She sent in the grant application request with hopes of an award notification yet this summer.
