The West Central School Board members reviewed the course description guidelines during their meeting last week.
Superintendent Dan Zylstra said one component of that has to do with gym credits.
“We are going to allow students at West Central who take either marching band or are enrolled in sports to get PE credits,” explained Zylstra. “There are some stipulations and guidelines for those, but we are going to allow that to happen. This will create a little bit more flexibility for some of our students who are very involved and want to get those PE credits taken care of.”
In addition, the school board approved some minor updates to the Elementary/Secondary Handbooks and adopted the textbook rental fees for the 2020-2021 school year. Zylstra noted that some of the fees went up and some went down, but not at a significant jump either way. A small tech fee will be included for repair and maintenance cost for the students’ Chromebooks.
