UPDATED: Another COVID-19-Related Death Reported in Starke County

Another Starke County resident has died after testing positive for COVID-19. The Starke County Health Department says the man, who was over the age of 60, died at LaPorte Hospital on Wednesday. No additional information about him will be released due to privacy laws.

That brings the county’s death count up to four, according to Thursday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health. Starke County also saw another nine residents test positive, bringing the total up to 127.

Marshall County continues to see its COVID-19 case count increase, with another 22 cases reported Thursday. That means 623 Marshall County residents have now tested positive, with an overall positivity rate of 11.5 percent. Marshall County has also had far more positive cases per capita than any of its neighbors except for Elkhart County.

Pulaski County reported its first new case in several days, with a new total of 67 positive cases. The state as a whole has now had more than 54,000 residents test positive and over 2,600 deaths, with 735 new positive tests reported Thursday.
