The Food Bank of Northern Indiana will host a mobile food distribution event today (July 24) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. CT at HealthLinc, 104 E. Culver Road, Suite 106 in Knox.
This mobile food distribution is possible through grant funding provided by the Starke County Community Foundation and will provide food for up to 200 households.
Fresh perishable items and dry goods will be offered free of charge. All items will be pre-boxed and pre-bagged. Food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last for those in need of food assistance.
This will be a drive-thru distribution. Participants are urged to stay in the vehicle and pop open the trunk to receive items. An area will be available to load items if the truck does not open.
In addition to the food distribution, HealthLinc will host a drive-thru Community Health Fair with no-cost sports physicals, free backpacks and supplies. Call 1-888-580-1060 ext. 1400 to schedule a sports physical.
