Knox Park Superintendent Retires

The City of Knox recently said goodbye to its longtime park superintendent. George Byer retired last month after 12 years in the position.

Mayor Dennis Estok recognized Byer during a recent city council meeting. “He’s been a good superintendent,” Estok said. “He’s actually went above his means, as far as volunteering a lot of his time without pay. He just felt like he had to be there.”

His last day was June 17, according to the draft council meeting minutes.
