N.J.-S.P. School Board to Consider Technology Repair Policy, Discuss Reopening Plan

The North Judson-San Pierre School Board will get an update on the school corporation’s reopening plan tonight. As it stands, in-person classes would begin as-scheduled on August 12, but families would also be offered an at-home learning option.

A technology repair policy and technology contract will also be up for the school board’s approval tonight. Superintendent Dr. Annette Zupin told board members last month that the policy would require families to cover the cost of repairs to the schools’ iPads, if they’re damaged due to students’ negligence.

“As you know, just last year, we purchased many iPads,” Zupin explained, “and now all of our students have access to them throughout the day, and because we have many more devices, they will break from time to time. And we have absorbed that cost this last year, and we can’t do that.”

Tonight’s North Judson-San Pierre School Board meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. CDT in the junior-senior high school media center.
