Starke County Clerk Bernadette Manuel told the Starke County Election Board members last week that she’s still waiting to hear if money spent by her office on personal protective equipment for the June Primary Election will be reimbursed.
She said she submitted eligible receipts to the Secretary of the State’s Office to be reviewed for CARES Act funding.
Manuel submitted $3,500 in costs which she said was lower than what some other counties submitted. Hand sanitizer, sanitation supplies, gloves, masks, and Q-tips are a few of the items used by voters and poll workers.
